    In response to the Auditor General’s Spring 2012 Report that reviewed civil aviation, Christine Collins, National President of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE), is deeply concerned about the safety of Canada’s airspace.

    UCTE represents more than 900 Technical Inspectors at Transport Canada including aviation inspectors for airworthiness, cabin safety, and transportation of dangerous goods.

  • UCTE members are not exempt from the drastic cuts announced by the federal government in last Thursday’s budget. 

    Based on a review of the budget, UCTE is anticipating the following impact on our public sector members:

    As many of you know, our sisters and brothers at Fredericton Airport who have been on strike since February 13, 2012.  One month later, there does not appear to be an end in sight.  We all know how hard it is to keep morale up when faced with a difficult strike.

    To help our members, I write asking for your support - both financially as well as messages of solidarity.

  • It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ms Norma Brown, mother of RVP Ontario Sister Darlene Brown.  Visitation will be held at Grant Brown Funeral Home, Rolston Chapel in Kemptville, Ontario on Friday, March 9th from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, March 10th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m.
