UCTE recognizes the work performed by members at various levels of our organization in three different ways.
Life Membership: This award is given to a member who has performed exemplary services for the membership of the organization. It entitles the member to all rights and privileges of membership in the union without requiring payment of dues. In accordance with By-law 3, Section 3, there shall be no more than twenty (20) such Life memberships at any time.

Fox Local 8089 Honorary Award: This award is given to a member or former member of UCTE for outstanding or exemplary service. Nominations for this award may be made by the President of a Local or by the National Executive. Outstanding service means service of a very significant nature involving a single incident or service of a high caliber over a period of time. The service may be at any level of the organization. Merit Award: This award may be given to a member or former member of UCTE for loyal and faithful service at any or all levels of the organization. Nominations for this award shall be made by the National Executive or by the Executive of a Local. For more information, please click here.
Plaques: There are other ways to recognize the services rendered by union members. Locals have the option of purchasing an engraved plaque bearing the UCTE logo and an inscription recognizing services rendered to the union, which they can offer to a member when marking a special event, such as retirement of a member.
